The "weekend of USA rock stars"

If you liked Tommy James and the Shondells (I Think We're Alone Now was my idea of a great romantic song), The Supremes, The Beach Boys, or sung to The Archies "Sugar, Sugar in 1969 when he was No. 1, this festival is for you.

"ROCK CON: The Weekend of 100 Rock Stars " is presented as the first National Rock & Roll Fan Fest. It will be held July 30-August 1 at the Sheraton Centre Hotel and Conference Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ

Who you might see: The Beach Boys Al Jardine, a former Supreme Mary Wilson (pictured at right, she looks pretty amazing), Johnny Winter, Tommy James, current or former members of The Yardbirds, Animals, The Hollies, The Rascals, Archies, Brooklyn Bridge and more. There will encounter hosts, concerts, round tables, screening and market memorabilia. Tickets are $ 20 - $ 30 a day in advance, $ 30 - 40 $ at the door. Rock Music

Rock music is a wonderfully broad category. Think of your local CD store (if you're lucky enough to still have one). Most CDs are classified under "Rock ", including rock and roll, folk rock, country rock, acid rock, hard rock, soft rock, and anything they can fit in between.

I will focus heavily on current bands. There are plenty of good music out there. I will include reviews of upcoming releases and seems back on some classic albums. I'll also include reviews of concerts and interviews with band members when possible.

best of 2010

2010 was a year of change in popular music, and for better or worse, the most memorable new year reflects the rise and fall of several of the biggest music stars. Back Eminem has regained the lead of hip-hop, while leaving IT not his legal troubles behind. Music by Justin Bieber has met great success, but met with disappointment MIA. Like young starlets like Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato struggled to grow in the spotlight, Taylor Swift rose past expectations at the Grammys and the Billboard 200. Taylor Momsen first concert in the UK

Taylor Momsen makes her first concert in the UK with his band "The Pretty Reckless" on Wednesday (May 12) London Notting Hill Arts Club. The 16-year-old Gossip Girl actress was admitted to "relax"by playing with his switchblade knife. "I have a knife collection. My favorite is my switchblade, "she told Metro. "I flew from New York to Los Angeles and still had a couple of knives in my bag. I thought I took all but rolled up in the past by security folds.I , has taken on the plane, opened my bag to get my portfolio in Los Angeles and they fell. I was like "Holy s ***!'" She added:" I have my favorite knife black with me all the time. This is a switchblade. It relaxes me for the film. "
